The solution is to configure Titanium Backup to access the external SD card slightly differently: It also won't find and automatically your preferences, but I can't help you with that (if anyone else can, I'd love to know how!). If you're like me, you use your external SD card for Titanium Backup, but as soon as you installed MM, Titanium Backup decided it wasn't working - specifically it can't access, or at least write to your Titanium Backup directory on your external SD card. Marshmallow has some new restrictions on how apps can use your external SD card. I had a request to post this as its own post, so hopefully it'll help.
